I love good customer service. I've been in the industry for over 22 years and also look for quality business and services. This new location was just what I was looking for. I was lucky to meet Jozalyn on my visit and was very pleased with my experience. She is so knowledgeable, fun, and so helpful! Best dispensary experience ever! Thank you Essence, you have a new customer for sure!

If you're looking for rude employees with horrible service and a mediocre product, then this is your place. Gave it a couple chances but won't be going back.My extremely rude and racist experience at this store:This was only my second trip to this dispensary. I went in around 4:30pm on 11/17/2020. I didn't know where to go exactly so I stood behind a gentleman customer right next to the front door behind the front counter. There is a female customer at the same front counter but around the corner from the front door. After a second or two, I hear a security guard behind me tell me to go stand in "the box". Confused as to what he meant because there was no box in the store, I go stand 6ft behind the gentleman nearest to the front door who is being helped by an employee. Now with a racist and mocking voice the security guard points at a spot behind a railing and says 'You stand over HERE' as if I couldn't understand English because I'm Asian. Trying to be calm, I explained to the guard that I thought the gentleman at the counter was checking in so that's why I stood behind him. The guard continued explaining in the same racist accent, and Mickey a worker, rudely replied that the gentleman at the counter was paying. Once I was finally checked in, I did enjoy my experience with the budtender but that was the only good thing about coming back to this store.There was and is no need for any business to be so rude to any patron, but these employees went out of their way to be rude and racist. Firstly, don't hire racists and maybe have some customer service training for your employees. Second, maybe you could have security greet every customer and guide them to where they should stand instead of yelling at customers across the floor and telling them where to go. You could also not have a cash register right next to the front doors but instead move your check-in counter there. What a stupid floor plan.  But lastly, there was absolutely no need to keep berating me after I followed directions and explained why I didn't understand the first time. Completely disrespectful. I hope this gets addressed but I will definitely not be coming back or recommending this establishment or this company of dispensaries to anyone who asks. I will further tell this account every single time anyone asks me what I think of this extremely disrespectful business.

Up scale interior, well lit, cool art and displays (glassware, gear, etc).  I think Pala helped me, very professional and kind.  I could hear and watch other employees helping customers decide on product(s) without the pushy attitude you find at almost every dispensary here in Las Vegas.  I have "shopped" several dispensaries in the area as I just moved here and been now desperate to find a decent place that wasn't overpriced that had a decent menu.  This is now my #1 choice and yes, Ive been to the Strip (and surrounding) and to Henderson and they don't even come close to Essence on Durango!Its safe, in a good neighborhood, next to other stores and coffee shop.  New building and open parking lot right on the corner.Menu is big but not ridiculous.And to my fellow veterans, they offer a discount, just SHOW PROOF

Changing prices on customers because corporate greed can't get enough of our money. Cannabis was made legal for the people. Not for corporate greed

I purchased 2 black afghan cartridges on sale for $60 plus tax both turned out to be defective one broke apart and leaked and the other one turned out to be blocked after about 10 puffs so it's no good essence cannabis dispensary did not warranty them or anything I just plain lost $65 I would stay away from this place at all costs there are plenty of dispensaries around town

Every time I pop into this store, I feel absolutely welcome and so very comfortable. Dawn is an awesome security guard (all of them really are cool but she is amazing) Last night I went to take advantage of the Memorial Day Weekend sales and was not disappointed. Not only was Germain fantastic about giving me recommendations and being so patient with my questions, but Alex (or Mark, damn stoner brain lol) in the back was phenomenal in explaining to me how everything was going to taste. This location absolutely rocks and so do all of their employees! This is the only spot I shop at now because I'm never disappointed!

It's insane how nice the people at this location are. I went today for my second time, yesterday being my first time. Both events were fast, and nothing short of high quality. I used to goto another dispensary up the street, but decided to check out this menu and I'm so glad I came in. Haven't even tried the medicine yet, I just had to write a review about this place. Yesterday I went through and it was a 5 minute interaction, I knew what I wanted from their menu online. They were happy to help, it was almost as fast as some deals back off the street. Today there was a slight delay, no longer than 30 seconds as the manager did everything in her power to access the situation and give me the best possible deal. To say I was delighted with these experiences is an understatement. I would recommend this spot to probably anyone who's looking for something fast and friendly.

Very disappointed by  this location and Essence  dispensary in general. Firstly always long lines... even if you are doing a online pickup. Second inconsistency's and misleading in product information regarding THC  and CBD % on Essence website when selecting products for store pickup. When you pickup your products, the THC and CBD % NEVER match what they have on their website. They NEED to regularly update the site information to reflect what they are actually selling in their store. I shop for specific strains with specific THC and CBD% ranges....don't like being mislead by misleading information. Going to look into other locations to see if this is just a problem at the Durango location or in general with Essence Dispensary.

Originally went in for 2 joints and our guy Jacob up sold me to 3 joints because of the "prime" deals that our wonderful Essence dispensary had this specific evening, great communication on his part didn't miss a word of what Essence employee's should provide. Talked testings, an arrange of different varieties that fit my specific needs such as Indica/hybrids.If your scared of trying new dispensary's, Essence is a dispensary that never fails to meet a connoisseur's prime choices.

Workers have no sense of urgency. Put in a curbside pick up order and they said it was an a minimum 60 minute wait. So I went in to pick up the order. There's about 3 other people in the store. It's took just as long as if I would have waited.

Very disappointed during my visit today. Posted hours don't reflect that they close for shift changes. Waited outside for over 20 minutes until I was able to go inside to find only one person working the counter. I handed her the label from my last purchase as I wanted the same thing. She proceeded to give me a different product as I questioned the packaging, she said it was the same thing that I had. BTW you can't touch the products due to Covid-19 so I was not able to verify. After I left the store I opened my back and there it was, the WRONG product. Apparently, she does not know the difference between CBD and TCH. I was so frustrated that I could not stand in line again to exchange it. I will go in another day with different people working. After this experience I will not be going to this location again. Extremely disappointed, because I have always gone to this business at the Tropicana location and the Durango location is closer to my home. Poor management at this location.

Just discovered this place driving by in my way to medizin. Figured I give it a try, tried going in with my girlfriend but were told only one of us could enter. Sorry but we didn't have a clue what we're to purchase. We will happily be on our way to our original destination. You guys must not like money, the place was dead when we tried to go. Good luck

Man nothing but good service when I walked in, didn't get the guy name but he was on the left side when I walked in 09/18/2020 . Wish I can give 10 stars made me feel welcomed asked me about the rewards membership just the whole experience was amazing , they not close to me but just cuz of the experience I had I'll definitely be going back for sure appreciate the hospitality

Never going to shop here again. People answering the phones suppose to help instead they direct you to online to anything. Whats the point of calling in a order or even calling when your reps don't even help. Tropicana and the South Durango yall are the ones who wasn't even trying to help.  NILES your the rep and there was one more. Your customer service is the worst.

What would've been a great review has bumped down because of the woman at check out. My boyfriend went in and spoke with a rep (unfortunately he doesn't remember the guy's name) but the gentleman that helped him out in line was friendly, knowledgeable, and understood we really were just picking up one thing. When he got to the register, the woman there kept trying to up sell him. That's fine, I understand how sales and retail work. Nothing wrong with a little up sell. However, we were in a bit of a hurry, and although he told her 3 times he only wanted 1 thing, she kept on persisting. And in her haste to try and up sell him, she chose the wrong form of payment. We were paying by card, she hit cash. She then proceeds to say "I accidentally hit cash and there's no way to change the payment" which forced us to use the atm. I understand there's a service charge regardless of the way I pay, but with the atm we were left with no choice except for withdrawing more cash than what we wanted since atm draws in $20s. I hate carrying cash, and because of her mistake I was stuck with it.We have visited the other Essence location in Rainbow and thought we'd give this one a shot. More than likely, we'll just keep going to the rainbow location instead.

Very disappointed in this dispensary. First of all I was told that they were recreational only but since it was my first visit I would get 10% off for being medical at the front desk. I get helped pretty quickly as it was empty then get sold flower with no name just hybrid, no terps, no explanation or anything. The final straw was the associate keeping my change without asking or me offering a tip. Being a local in the legal cannabis industry I'm shocked with this terrible experience. I would recommend you deal with a street dealer before shopping at this dispensary.

Deals are always subject to days and supply, but the peeps are rad. Yessy is AHmazing!!! Super kind and helpful. Always cool chill ppl

Very rude!! This was my first and will be my last time visiting this place. My brother was in from out of town and it was his first time in a Vegas dispensary. I wanted to help him but was just treated so rudely by both the budtender and the security guard. Even my brother was turned off by their behavior. I didn't argue at all with the staff. I just won't return.I understand the regulations in place because of COVID-19. We're all dealing with it. However, there is a way to enforce these guidelines without being incredibly rude.  With so many dispensaries in Las Vegas abiding by guidelines (in a very friendly manner), there is no need to visit this place with the rude staff.

Really fast I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the full team at Essence always working super hard and making sure the lines are as quick as possible. HUGE shoutout to Germain. He's always super friendly and positive whenever I enter the store and always points out related products if I ever can't find what I need. A friend with weed is a friend indeed!

Always love popping in, this is my most frequented essence. Jacob helped me the other day and was extremely helpful

Terrible customer service, walked in for a pickup order, a blonde girl was super rude and asked me to wait till I was 'next' waited for over 10mins with only a few people in store only to see another customer come in and jump the line. Left, won't be back will let everyone know not to go to this location. Worst dispensary experience in this town, go to The Dispensary NuWu or any other Great Service Dispensary Avoid!!!

Good selection and knowledgeable staff, just don't bother trying to reach them over the phone.

I really would give this dispensary a 5 stars considering I'm there weekly and never have issues. Today however was different. As my IL ID is expired I'm obligated to show paperwork saying it's valid still due to covid. I never have an issue or problems and I'm always glad to wait for management to approve it. As I waited alongside and numerous people checked in as I waited I said "damn now I gotta wait in this line" jokingly considering this happens to me often. Milly, an employee there, rudely stated "well you can gladly leave them if you don't want to wait. You can find a different dispensary." Though I wasn't being serious I said no it's all good. She continued to say well this is standard and truly I've never dealt with a more rude employee being at a dispensary. Completely ruined my mood and my experience. I always go in excited, willing to tip, and leave happy. One employee ruined it for me. Crazy what one comment can make a customer feel.

Every time I go here I have a bad experience. One time I bought from the rainbow location and they sold me an airopro refill but the box was empty. When I called to tell them they had given me an empty box they said there's nothing they can do so that was $60 down the drain. I went down there two weeks ago, the cartridge they sold me had a crack in it. I went there 20 minutes ago and this time they told me they cannot take my expired ID along with the DMV renewal slip. I would not suggest essence dispensary at all.

Didn't even know you guys existed, but was on the way to Medizin with my boyfriend and we decided to check you guys out instead. We were told at the door the only one of us could come in to purchase because of Covid, but every other dispensary in town we go to we're both allowed in the building as long as they aren't at capacity (you guys definitely weren't busy). We're always happy to abide by guidelines, but your guys' makes no sense. Will happily take my money to Medizin

Let me start off by saying that I love essence cannabis dispensary for their deals and good products. I end up at this location more times than I prefer, since it's very close to where I live which is why I continue to return.... I regret it every time. This location sucks. Every time I go here I feel awkward and uncomfortable. The employees are not friendly or very welcoming. The few that are "nice" tend to be over doing it in a fake way. Even the way the way the staff interact together make me feel weird. The previous time I was there, the employee took away my industry discount since I was impacted by COVID-19. I have  no problem paying regular price, but to me it rubbed me the wrong way that he pointed out my discount and told me he's removing it. Please make some adjustments because I really want to love this location

This location and the customer service is amazing Shelby was the most awesome budtender  oh and I can forget about Jocelyn she checked me and my wife in and because of these two y'all have full support from me and my friends after I went I sent two of my friends in and they are extremely happy with the service and products the deals are amazing!!!!!!!! I do hope you guys keep the point system and y'all need an app but this shout out is to let y'all know I wish more businesses would run like this y'all did that

I love this new Shop!   It's easy in and out.  It's like a express.  Sweet deals and awesome "Kush Konsultants". Haha I just made that up.  Anyway, I suggest you go see Shelby because she's awesome!!!  Oh, and sorry Delilah I didn't mean to embarrass you!!  I got no filter!!!   What an awesome place to have in our neighborhood!!!   Welcome!   See y'all soon!!

Smh Horrible Experience, First time there , they hassle me to give them a phone number or I can't purchase. Okay Spam away!! After I'm standing in which seems like a line on the count of its arrows n shit pointing to go a certain way. I get to the end of the line I look at the counter it's only two bud tender, one was with a customer , the other standing behind the register but just talking her ass with another customer who is standing in a window(she got dreads) "over the top loud for no reason" ms. doing nothing acting like she doing tooooooo much! ... so I looked the TVs .... 5 mins goes by, the lady from the check in comes to me and ask "have you been helped" lady you know I haven't been help . So she asked me what I want. Asked to see terpes for couple strains.  She walked away, that's when the lady who was talking realize she wasn't doing damn job as a budtender n decided to toward her attention towards me . They dumb lady goes the lady will ring you out at the front . I'm like bitch I haven't even picked nothing out , why tf you not helping me . You see I'm standing here looking like a newbie here . Help a brotha out . She wasn't nice , trying rush me out when. i never been helped . Felt bad for the one budtender they kept ponding people to him. Smh They clearly don't care about the customer. My manager tells us customer first, if a customer walks in every conversation stops and energy goes towards the customer , not ignore him and continue. I was greeted once while being there and that was the front desk. Honestly if I could do 0Stars I would  for the experience!!

Unfortunately this is the only essence In town that seems to be unorganized, surprisingly considering I think this is the newest one open. I'll stick to rainbow.

The employees at this location are not following COVID-19 CDC social distancing guidelines. Their employees stand shoulder to shoulder at the registers and while helping customers. Poor management running this location.

This store does not seem organized. Constantly changing business hours. Make the drive at your own risk. You won't know if they are open until you arrive.

Nice employees and fast service! My only issue happened with curbside pick up. Myself and another customer were parked in the front waiting, then went inside when no one came to our vehicles, and then once inside were told curbside pick up is in the back. I saw some signs back there once we were leaving, but none in the front where traffic actually comes in or on the front doors. Maybe add "curbside pick up is in the back" to the text messages? As customers, we can be dumb so we need big ass signs with directions. Other than that everything went smoothly

Wow I've never been to a worse essence in my life , I asked multiple staff members if they took debit and was told yes. I had waited in line for over 20 minutes for the cashier to tell me they didn't and was meet with rude responses from the staff and security. I wasn't rude at any point so I don't see why I was treated that way. Security was extremely unprofessional and I will never go there again

Usually only one person at the desk why even have the other three computers I guess they're just there for decoration who closes for a shift change at 7 PM at night?

This has become my go to dispo for the sole reason of the staff. Love the energy I get from everyone when I come in. Even on the not so good days I leave feeling better than when I first come in.Came in today though around 2pm I believe Jordan was helping me. Really helpful and informative.Conversation is always nice so that's another plus.Overall the Staff today made the visit feel comfortable and welcoming!Whoever the staff is July 27th 2pm you guys are dope!

Honestly if this wasn't so close to my house I don't think I would ever shop here. Their staff is friendly but frankly EXTREMELY SLOW. Let's not even begin with the curbside pickup!It's suppose to be safe, fast, convenient and hassle free. It's exactly the opposite. If you want to chill in your car for a good 20-30 mins  last night my wait was 45 min , ridiculous, this is your spot! Online when you place order it allows you to have an option to either pay cash or debit so upon arrival the bud tender would know what way the customer will pay. Well not here. They made me get out of my car and go to the atm inside because they can't take card? Uh what? ANYWAYS YES THEY GOT THE GOODS BUT THEIR SERVICE AND LONG WAIT TIMES ARE REALLY NOT WORTH STOPPING BY.

My favorite dispensary!! Every time me and my boyfriend come we have a good time the staff is always super friendly and helpful ! Christian has helped us a few times and she's the sweetest ever and we always have a good conversation. She found out I hadnt been getting points so her and the manager hooked us up since she had remembered helping me on other visits. I came in tonight around 10pm and everyone working was super wonderful and friendly

Literally nobody answers their freaking phones!! Trash! So annoying!! What's the point of having a phone number if nobody answers the phone?

Horrible customer service!!! Used to be my favorite location but now the people working there are the rudest and slow AF!! What's the point having a sign up for curbside the you MUST HAVE pre-order confirmation text when you allow people to place orders from their car?!?! I'll be making the drive to the rainbow location now on

Informative staff, friendly, and good selection of cannabis. They have specials that include 2 per-rolls for $18 or premium $22 which is not bad. They have a great selection of flowers, concentrates, and edibles. Now during COVID only one person per party can go inside and disinfect your hands before you go inside.

To their credit, they've seem to been better about the random closures. Also have it posted on their site now which is nice enough I guess. But I have to drop a star because they've recently stopped giving change, or how they put it, "ran out of change".  First time this happened I chalked it up as just a one off incident.  But 3 times in a row  they've been "out of change".   You'll get whole dollars back but any coin I wouldn't count on getting back.  Not a big deal once, but 3 times in a row seems greasy. Im not sure if this is the bud tender's attempts at padding their tips, or if it's a new store policy to increase their cash on hand.  Either way it's no bueno. They've also stopped giving local discounts as well.  Bummer town on both fronts.

Highly Recommend this Essence location!I've been to other Essence Dispensaries and always had a pretty good experience, but this location is a stand out when it comes to customer service. And the store is gorgeous. If you're in this area, stop in; I think you'll see what I mean.I ended up talking to Grace, the GM, to discus a call center complaint. She was so awesome she turned my frown upside down LOL! I went from irritated to feeling like we're friends. I know, weird right? Anyway, she's earned my loyalty and now I won't go anywhere else!!

She’s very considerate and patient with people, and I will be returning more often because of how I’ve seen her deal with upset customer in such a graceful manner. Also, Doug and Ashley are very helpful as well as the rest of the staff. I wish I was working here!

I love that if they don't know, they ask someone else. Honesty is such a big plus in my book! It has become the only spot I go to now!

I had a much more peaceful experience at this location versus the one on West Tropicana Avenue. The staff was warm and friendly. The security didn't bark orders at customers and had no issues with us speaking to each other. I had to run out to my car to get some change, and the staff let me keep my place at the cashier without any problems. I'm not sure if this location isn't allowing groups of 2 or more in unless everyone is buying, that was an issue that surfaced at the Tropicana one. I went in alone, and everyone inside appeared to be solo, so I didn't see the need to ask.

Come here for great deals and amazing staff! I didn't really know what I wanted but Alex and another member (can't recall his name) helped me find exactly what I was looking for! They even hooked me up with a few free cann drinks! Couldn't be happier with my experience here.

Great first experience! I'm a dorky middle age lady who had no idea what I was doing walking into a dispensary. Everyone was very friendly, patient, and helpful. I will be returning again.
